Elizabeth Agnes Witmer


Elizabeth Agnes Witmer, 95, of rural Dalmatia (Malta), passed away Aug. 8, 2019, at Premier at Susquehanna Village.
She was born July 8, 1924 in Jackson Township, Halifax, a daughter of the late Samuel S. and Clara (Bastian) Snyder. She was married for 52 years of the late Haven Witmer.

Elizabeth was employed as a part time bank teller at Dalmatia Bank and as a teacher's adie for Line Mountian School District.
She was a member of St. Luke's UCC Church in Malta where she was the organist for 50 years. She also served as a Sunday school superintendent and teacher. She was a member of the Public School Employees Assoc., and the Herndon Senior Action Center.
Elizabeth was an avid reader, enjoyed crafts, crocheting, and traveling.

She is survived by three children and their spouses, Ann Sue, wife of Ray Walborn (deceased), Paul and his wife Judy, and David and his wife Jan; six grandchildren, Michelle Jones, Andrea Haynie, Joshua Witmer, Abby Witmer, Dustin Witmer, and Cami Witmer; six great-grandchildren Leah, Kevin, and Sarah Haynie, Natalie and Havin Witmer, and McKenna Payton; and one sister, Ruth Maurer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at St. Luke's UCC, Malta.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family requests that memorial donations in Elizabeth's memory be made to St. Luke's UCC, 837 Mahantango Creek Road, Dalmatia, PA 17017.

The Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Ltd., Millersburg is handling the arrangements.

I’ll miss Elizabeth very much. I loved taking care of her at the home. She was one of the sweetest ladies I ever knew.
