Edward T. Shingara Jr., 50, of Cressent, Calif., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at the Rogue Hospital, Medford, Ore.
He was born Dec. 8, 1966, in Sunbury, a son of Edward T. Sr. and the late Sylvia (Campbell) Shingara who raised him in the Lutheran faith.
Edward was a 1985 graduate of Line Mountain High School. After high school, he served our country by joining and serving in the Navy for three years and continued as a reservist for an additional five years.
Following his military service, Ed was a maintenance and electrical technician.
He was an avid nature lover and outdoorsman. He was a compassionate and caring man who enjoyed the simple life.
Ed is survived by three children, two sons, Edward T. Shingara III and wife, Martha (Mendoza) Shingara, and Zachary Shingara and fiance, Bianca Greco, and one daughter, Olivia Shingara; five grandchildren, Edward IV, Amelia, Zachary Jr., Marko and Giuseppe; his father, Edward T. Shingara Sr.; one sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Eugene Harris Sr.; niece and nephews, Brigette (Harris) Styler and husband, Jeremy, Eugene Harris Jr. and wife, Janice (Kazar Harris, and Brandon Harris; one great-niece, Taylor; and two great-nephews, Kaleb and Everette. His living extended family includes 511 aunts, uncles and cousins. Along with his biological family he is survived by Beverly and Bill Jacobs who were an incredibly important part of his life.
Edward was preceded in death by his sister, Sharry Lee, and his mother, Sylvia.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
