Edith A. Snyder, 89, formerly of Turbotville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at Watsontown Health and Rehab where she had been residing the past few years.
Born March 1, 1928, in Turbot Township, Northumberland County, she was the daughter of the late David W. and Mary (Shoemaker) Armstrong. On Nov. 19, 1951, she married Leon R. Snyder and they celebrated 48 years of marriage until his death on Dec. 1, 1999.
She was a graduate of Milton High School and enjoyed sewing and needlework.
Edith had a strong Christian faith and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Turbotville.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Larry D. and Nan Snyder, of New Columbia; two daughters and one son-in-law, Shirley A. Snyder and Mary A. and Ken McWilliams, all of Turbotville; five grandchildren, Sarajane and Russell Snyder, Samuel, Steven, and Jason McWilliams; two great-grandchildren, Joseph and Iris; and one sister, Nellie Fulmer, of Turbotville.
Preceding her in death in addition to her husband were two grandsons, Stanley Jay and Kenneth McWilliams Jr.; two sisters, Angeline Ranck and Della Mae Noll; and one brother, David W. Armstrong Jr.
Friends and family are invited to call from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at Bethel Baptist Church, 4135 State Route 54, Turbotville, where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ronald Bixler officiating.
Burial will follow in Turbotville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Edith's memory be made to her church.
