Edgar H. "Ed" Horne, 87, Milton, passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born Oct. 18, 1930, in Catawissa, a son of the late Harlan and Viola (Ernest) Horne. On Aug. 24, 1963, he married the former Lois M. Rovenolt and they celebrated 50 years of marriage until her death on Nov. 18, 2013.
Earlier in life he had worked at Fox Knapp, Milton, and later retired from Blough-Wagner Industries, Middleburg.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Watsontown and a former member of the Muncy Valley Moose Lodge 866, Hughesville.
Ed loved square dancing, going to carnivals and festivals, and listening to country music, especially the Dean McNett boys. He enjoyed being outdoors and camping and loved to keep busy caring for others by mowing lawns and shoveling snow.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Harriet J. and Robert W. Moyer Sr. of Watsontown; two grandchildren, Adrienne and Lucas Moyer; four brothers, Roger Horne of Paxinos, Doyle Horne of Berwick, Danny Horne of Sunbury, and Raymond Horne of Danville; and one sister, Alice Thomas of Catawissa.
He was preceded by two brothers, Walter and Lloyd Horne; and one sister, Margaret Shaffer.
Friends are invited to call from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Brooks Funeral Home & Cremation Svc, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville, followed by a memorial service at 3, with Pastor Shawn McNett officiating.
Burial in Watsontown Cemetery will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
