E. Jane Kilgo, 95, formerly of Selinsgrove, passed away Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, at Sunrise of Severna Park, Md. She had been a resident there since August of 2012.
She was born June 4, 1922, in Selinsgrove, a daughter of the late Lillian (Summers) Fry and George L. Fry.
Jane was a 1941 graduate of Selinsgrove High School.
She married her first husband, Raymond C. Rose in 1946. The couple had one daughter, Jill Lorraine Symanski of Archibald, before Mr. Rose died in a plane crash in Canada in 1951. In December 1957, Jane married her second husband, Charles M. Kilgo of South Market Street, Selinsgrove. The couple had one daughter together, Kim Kilgo Riley, of Gambrills, Md. Her second husband passed away in 1996 from a stroke.
Jane was a former member of Sharon Luthern Church, Selinsgrove, and a member of the Needlecraft Club in high school.
She was an excellent seamstress and worked professionally as an upholsterer in her brother's upholstery shop prior to her second marriage. She also taught sewing and knitting classes at the Sate School.
In addition to her two daughters, she is survived by five grandchildren, Terri Curnow, Christine Kuzmick, and Kelly Stiles, all of northeast Pennsylvania, Paul Riley, of Savannah, Ga., and Captain Jessica Riley, USA, currently stationed at Ft. Knox, Ky.; seven great-grandchildren, three boys and four girls.
She was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, followed by the funeral at 2 with the Rev. Robert P. Doll officiating.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Selinsgrove.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make a charitable donation to the Wilmer Eye Institute at John Hopkins Hospital for macular degeneration research or to the March of Dimes.
