Dorsey M. Hauck Sr., 76, of Treibley Road, New Columbia, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at the Bloomsburg Hospital.
He was born Oct. 29, 1939, in Milton, a son of the late Milton C. Sr. and Mary I. (Koons) Hauck. On Feb. 29, 1964, he married the former Joyce Bridge who survives.
Dorsey attended Milton schools and worked at American Home Foods, Milton, retiring in 2001.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Lewisburg and a member of the Moose in Mifflinburg. He was a former Little League coach in White Deer and drove a school bus for the Milton School District.
Dorsey loved to watch his grandchildren race go-karts and micro sprints. He liked hunting, fishing, mowing grass, plowing snow and enjoyed snowmobiling.
In addition to his wife of 52 years, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Melodee R. and Troy Brosious, of Northumberland; four sons and three daughters- in-law, Jeffrey M. Sr. and Michelle Hauck, of New Columbia, Dorsey M. Jr. and Stephanie Hauck, of Danville, Steven W. and Tiffany Hauck, of New Columbia, and Michael D. Hauck, of New Columbia; six sisters, Marie Tanner, of Lewisburg, Shirley Hauck, of New Columbia, Dora Funk, of New Columbia, Judy Troxel, of New Columbia, Rebecca Guffey, of Lewisburg, and Roberta Danowsky, of Lewisburg; 11 grandchildren, Jeffrey M. Hauck Jr., Ashleigh Flowers, Tristan Brosious, Joshua Perry, Travis Hauck, Chelsea Achy, Caitlin Patraw, Garrett Hauck, Cameron Hauck, Cody Hauck, and Breona Hauck; and 14 great-grandchildren, Jeffrey III, Jackson, Jordan, Jonah, Lennyx, Piper, Hunter, Axel, Emmett, Liam, Parker, Aurora, Evelynn, and Harper.
Dorsey was preceded in death by five sisters, Thelma Tyson, Kate Marks, Beatrice Hauck, Ruth Hauck, and Mary Jane Snyder; and three brothers, Charles Hauck, Milton C. Hauck Jr. and Nelson Hauck.
Friends and relatives will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Gary Hackenberg officiating.
Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
