Dorothy F. Swartz, 82, of Strick Road, Milton, passed away Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, at Geisinger Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 12, 1934, in Snyder County, a daughter of the late Amos D. and Marvine J. (Brininger) File. On Feb. 28, 1952, she married Charles L. Swartz and they have celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Dorothy assisted her husband with their family business, Limestone Mobile Concrete and was a homemaker. Earlier in life she had worked at the former Limestone Elementary School.
She was a member of Paradise United Church of Christ.
Dorothy was an avid bingo player. She loved being involved with her children and grandchildren's various activities. Dorothy enjoyed cooking the Sunday meal for the entire family.
Surviving besides her husband who is residing at Milton Healthcare Center are three sons and daughters-in-laws, Charles L. Jr. and Janet Swartz, Herman A. and Kathleen Swartz, and Dennis E. and Melanie Swartz, all of Milton; six grandchildren, Matthew and Mark Swartz, Colleen Romano, Beth Keister, and Clinton and Kyle Swartz; seven great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Rebecca Fritzges and her husband Charles, of Milton.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Charles Donald Swartz; a granddaughter, Tiffany Lynn Swartz; a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Lou Swartz; and a brother, Elwood File.
A graveside service at Washingtonville Cemetery will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brooks Funeral Home & Cremation Svc, PC, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville.
