Dorothy "Dot" Rynearson, 87, of Selinsgrove, passed away peacefully at home with her beloved family by her side on Oct. 26, 2017, after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Morristown, N.J., Dot graduated from Bayley Ellard High School and resided in Whippany Park for many years raising her family and working in a number of corporate and Board of Education positions.
A true matriarch in every sense of the word, Dot cherished and loved her family above all else. Wed to the man of her dreams, Buddy, for over 50 years, she raised her two wonderful children, Pamela and Bryan, who brought her endless joy and satisfaction. Her life was truly blessed with her faith, family and amazing friends.
Surviving are her son, Bryan (Peggy) Rynearson; son-in-law, Michael Shields; her loving grandchildren, Michael Shields Jr., Megan Shields, Thomas (Samantha) Rynearson, Kevin Rynearson, Katie Rynearson, and Jack Rynearson; and cherished great-granddaughter, Judith "Jude" Rynearson.
Dot was predeceased in death but her husband, Walter "Buddy" in 2005; and daughter, Pamela Shields in 2006.
Friends and family will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 112 Fairview Dr., Selinsgrove, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tukura Pius Michael O.P. and Father Joseph Goode as celebrants.
The family will receive friends and relatives at 109 Charles Ave., Selinsgrove, immediately following the service.
Arrangements are by the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove.
