Doris M. Sheaffer


Doris M. Sheaffer, 87, of Richfield, entered into rest on Friday, June 7, 2019, at the Richfield Senior Living and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born May 5, 1932, in Snyder County, a daughter of the late Reno and Hazel (Leitzel) Shellenberger. On June 8, 1950, she married Raymond E. Sheaffer who survives.

Doris was formerly employed at the Richfield Shirt Factory and later as a home caregiver for local families.
She was a member of the Richfield Life Ministries Church.
Doris enjoyed reading, listening to country music, and walking. She loved the times that she and her husband went on bus trips, especially to Nashville and Branson.

In addition to her husband, Doris is survived by her four children and their spouses, Judy and Andrew Hoffman, Gary and Kathleen Sheaffer, and Roger Sheaffer, all of Richfield, and Pastor Terry and Melissa Sheaffer of Mount Pleasant Mills; six grandchildrenand their spouses, Jason and Teresa Sheaffer, Lisa and Mark Ferster, Mark and Trisha Hoffman, Lucas and Ashley Sheaffer, Hannah and Austin Stong, and Lydia and Matthew Von Fricken; 16 great- grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Shellenberger and Carl and Judy Shellenberger; two sisters, Pauline Benner and Mary and George Roth; a brother-in-law, Harold Moyer, and nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Anna Sheaffer; two sisters, Phyllis and Ed Minium and Shirley Moyer; a brother-in-law, Herman Benner; and a sister-in-law, June Shellenberger.

Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, at Richfield Life Ministries Church, 167 Church St., Richfield, followed by the funeral at 11, with Pastor Aaron Benner, and her son, Pastor Terry Sheaffer officiating.
Burial will be in Richfield Union Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be made in loving memory of Doris to her church.
