Dean A. Propst, 52, of Sunbury, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at his home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1963, in Sunbury. He is survived by his father, Bruce C. and Mary E. Propst, and his mother, Alice (VanBuskirk) Propst. He and Diane M. Kiger were married on Aug. 3, 2002.
Dean was a graduate of Shikellamy High School. He was employed by Wood-Mode Industries of Kreamer.
He was a member of the Sunbury Eagles and the Northumberland Fire Company. His passion was playing bass guitar in their band, Dirty Minds. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying camping, hunting, fishing and gardening. He loved his dogs, Baxter and Bella (his little fur babies).
He is survived by his wife, Diane, and three stepchildren, Christina Carr and husband, Justin, of Winfield, Steven Force, of St. Augustine, Fla., and Chelsea Dock and fiance Phil Joppy, of Sunbury; three grandchildren, Kaelyn, Ella and Wyatt; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Frankie and Robert Scudder, of Northumberland, and Bonnie and Stan Twardus, of Newark, Del. Also, by his step-sisters, Karen and Kathy; and his step-brothers, Ken, Kevin and Keith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bruce C. Propst Jr.
Diane and the Propst family would like to thank all of our amazing friends and family for their support and love throughout our sorrow. A special thank you to Tammy Zeigler for the beautiful framed photo of our "Deaner" and to Pastor Lee Crossley for his sincere message.
