Dean W. Brouse, 89, of Kreamer, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.
He was born May 1, 1929, in Kreamer, a son of the late Foster and Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Kline) Brouse. On April 19, 1957, he married the former Shirley A. Troup who survives.

Dean was a lumberman all of his life. He began his career with his father, and then as Brouse and Swineford Sawmill, Dean Brouse Lumbering, and Dean Brouse and Sons.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Kreamer where he served on the church council. He was a charter member of the Kreamer Volunteer Fire Company, a member of the Kreamer Sportsmen Club, the Sleepy Hollow Rod and Gun Club, and the Pennsylvania Forestry Association. He had served on the Kreamer Municipal Authority and the Globe Mills Cemetery Board.
Earlier in life he enjoyed hunting and fishing and later on enjoyed traveling and antiques. Dean loved his work and was a sawyer for 70 years.

In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William D. and Doreen Brouse of Kreamer, and Scott A. and Cheryl Brouse of Middleburg; four grandchildren and their spouses, Stephanie and Jim Underhill, Erin and Nate Bingaman, Andrew and Jenn Brouse, and Stephen Brouse and his girlfriend, Jessica Tilsner; two great-grandchildren, Grant and Brooks Bingaman, and one expected in July; and one sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Brouse.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Brouse; and five sisters, Vernetta Fetter, Mary Harmon, Erma Swineford, and Eva Klingler and Jean Brouse.

A viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 18, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 623 Kreamer Ave., Kreamer, followed by the funeral at 11, with Pastor Vickie L. Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Globe Mills Cemetery, Middleburg.
