Dawn's Story

Dawn L. Albera, 90, Milton, formerly of Elysburg, passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, at Milton Nursing and Rehab Center, where she had been residing the past few years.

Born June 16, 1927, in Shamokin, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Ida M. (Spotz) Carl.

She married Ernest J. Albera on Aug. 30, 1958, and they celebrated 23 of marriage until his death, May 1981.

She was a graduate of Elysburg High School and was employed as a seamstress.

She enjoyed her cats and loved to garden earlier in life.

She is survived by one sister, Roxanne and husband Gomer Jones of Baltimore, Md.; four nephews, Gerald (Kathleen) Shuler; Shannon (Sandy) Richie; Gomer and Jason Jones; and one niece, Kimberly.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Madeline R. Shuler and Vivienne Richie; and one nephew, George Jones.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington, with the Rev. Melody Sell of Washingtonville Lutheran Church, officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brooks Funeral Home & Cremation Svc PC, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville.
