David K. Smith, 70, of Middleburg, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at his home.
He was born March 9, 1947, in Penns Creek, a son of the late Ralph and Grace (Kratzer) Smith.
David was a 1965 graduate of Middleburg High School.
He retired after more than 40 years of service from Ritzcraft, Mifflinburg.
He was a member of the Port Ann Wesleyan Church. He had assited in the construction of the church and was on the administrative church board.
David enjoyed hunting. He valued work and was mechanically gifted.
He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Curt and Shelia Smith, of Bonifay, Fla., Steven and Tammy Smith and Mark Smith, all of Middleburg; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Moyer, of Penns Creek, and Lovetta Boyer, of Mifflinburg; and one brother, Robert Smith, of Middleburg.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Floyd; and one granddaughter.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Port Ann Wesleyan Church, 2856 Troxelville Road, Middleburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Paul Sheets officiating.
Burial will be in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Middleburg.
Contributions in David's memory may be made to the Port Ann Wesleyan Church Building Fund.
Arrangements are by the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg.
