We celebrate the life of David James Lueck, 70, of Danville, that began when the late Norman and Barbara (French) Lueck brought him to life with the help of God on March 20, 1947, in St. Paul, Minn., and ended too soon on May 13, 2017.
David proudly served his country as a corporal in the Marine Corps and was a combat veteran of the Vietnam War from Feb. 27, 1968 through Sept. 18, 1969. Upon returning, David made a career in accounting and finance. He started his career as an accountant with Arthur Anderson in Los Angeles, Calif., and went on to retire as a controller for Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys, Calif.
David was an avid skier and enjoyed a good fishing and camping trip with his nephews like no other. He spent his retired years donating his time to help his local VFW and fellow veterans in need.
He raised and is survived by two stepdaughters, Amber Harvey, of Menifee, Calif., and Nicholle Boguslaw, of Danville. He was the proud grandfather of five grandchildren, Tristan Scott, Tenneson Scott, and Taryn Boguslaw, of Danville, and Tyler and Reese Harvey, of Menifee. He is survived by his three wonderful sisters, Valerie Randall, Marianne Wolin, and Jane Wagers.
Memorial services are to be held in June 2017 in California, on date and time to be announced.
Arrangements are entrusted to McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Hughesville.
