David Eugene Fellencer

David Eugene Fellencer, 71, of Salem Manor Court, Selinsgrove, crossed the line of worlds in his home at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 4, 2019, surrounded by loving family singing "Peace, Peace, Wonderful Peace" as he made his way home to Heaven.

He was born April 6, 1948, the only child of Eugene John "E.J." Fellencer and Lorraine Josephine Gorman of Monroe County, Pa. He was married to Laura Lou Bartholomew on June 14, 1969, in Vestaburg, Mich. They had just celebrated 50 years of marriage three weeks ago.

David was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, uncle, brother-in-law, grandfather "Pappy" and great-grandfather and a much loved teacher, church organist, bus driver, and caregiver.

He graduated from Ida High School in Ida, Mich., Kansas City College and Bible School in Overland Park, Kan., and Grace theological Seminary in Winona Lake, Ind., and spent the largest part of his life serving God teaching in Christian schools, serving his last 20 years at Penn View bible Institute, retiring in 2013. After retiring, he continued to work for Rohrer Bus as a van driver transporting preschool children whom he loved dearly, and for Shared Support as a weekend caregiver.

He also loved serving God on the organ bench playing for church and school chapel. Music was a big part of his life. His other main interest was crocheting. Anything! He enjoyed making up his own patterns and enjoyed designing and making wearable crocheted items for his family.

He was a member of the Mountain Road God's Missionary Church for 26 years, playing the organ there and at St. Paul's and Zion United Methodist churches on alternate Sundays for more than a decade.

He is survived by his wife, Laura; their four children, Timothy Owen of Beverly Hills, Fla., Mary Lorraine Ehmahdi and husband Ash of Orlando, Fla., Elizabeth Joy Maust of Watsontown, and Abigail Susanne Fellencer of Sunbury; four grandchildren, Tarek, Jasmine, Layla, and Sami Elmahdi, and one great-granddaughter, Sifara Elmahdi, all of Orlando.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends and relatives are invited to join in a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, and a celebration of David's life at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at Mountain Road God's Missionary Church in Penns Creek (GPS address is 1532 Mountain Road, Middleburg), with the Rev. Rob Dicken officiating.

Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery near the church.

Arrangements are by the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg.
