David Mansel Clinger, 83, of Richmond, Va., passed away on Aug. 13, 2016.
David was a native of Lewisburg, Pa., and a graduate of Washington and Lee University '55,
He is survived by his wife, Alice Fowle Crossgrove Clinger; and was preceded in death by his first wife, Carlyle Phillips Brown Clinger; his brother, Malcolm Angstadt Clinger, Jr.; as well as his parents, Margaret Mansel and Malcolm Angstadt Clinger.
He is also survived by his brother, James Mansel Clinger (Suzy) and Malcolm's wife, Barbara. Dave was a wonderful father, grandfather and father figure to Dede Clinger Andrews (Hobie), Shelly Clinger Akers (Tim), Sarah Clinger Ruffin (Archer), David M. "Chad" Clinger, Jr., Linda Crossgrove Howle and David Crossgrove.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at St. James's Episcopal Church with a reception to follow at The Commonwealth Club.
