David Alan Buck, 58, of Milton, peacefully left his battle with cancer behind on Jan. 2, 2018, passing at home in Milton, Pa.
Born July 29, 1959, in Danville, Pa., David was the son of Joann Alta (Showers) and Jay Rorick Buck Sr.
A 1977 graduate of Milton, he received his teaching degree at Lock Haven University and his master's at Mansfield University. A state wrestling contender in high school, David spent much of his life coaching wrestling, and in 2016 was inducted into the Southside High Coaching Hall of Fame in Elmire, N.Y., where he spent a 30 year career teaching elementary physical education and coaching various sports. David retired in 2015 and returned home to Pennsylvania.
His great loves were spending time fishing in his boat at his cabin on Black Lake, N.Y., and more recently golfing with friends.
He was preceded in death by his father in June and leaves behind three brothers, Jay Buck (Leslie Yocum), of Milton, Gary (Joan) Buck, of Northumberland, and Scott (Peggy) Buck, of Milton; his former wife, Amy (Henderson) Buck, of Montoursville with whom he had three daughters Elizabeth Buck, of Buffalo N.Y., Erica Buck, of Denver Colo., and Emily Buck, of Roanoke Va.; and his widow, Valerie Bieber, of Milton.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are by the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Services Inc., Milton.
