Daniel J. Konecny, 61, of Lewisburg, passed suddenly on Monday, July 24, 2017.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Rudolph F. Konecny, his mother, Mildred M. (Graf) Konecny, and his sister, Linda (Konecny) Lyons.
Daniel is survived by his daughters, Melissa A. Konecny, of Sellersville and Rachel M. Konecny, of Breinigsville; his brother, David Konecny, of Virginia; his grandsons, Theodore F. Harrington V, and Benjamin Daniel Harrington (Melissa Konecny); his beloved dog and constant companion, Stanley; his three nieces, Jennifer Durren, Betse Lyons, and Renee Bonwell; and his former wife and current best friend, Debra F. Brosious (Konecny) and her husband and Daniel's friend, David R. Brosious.
Daniel was an animal lover, a science fiction fan, a movie buff, a comic book aficionado, an avid reader, a strategic chess player, a self-taught nature photographer, an enthusiastic computer gamer, and a lover of music, especially The Beatles. Daniel shared his enthusiasm for all of his activities with his daughters as they grew, and more recently with his grandsons, Teddy and Ben. As a teenager, Daniel participated in musicals like Jesus Christ Superstar, about which he loved telling his daughters, going so far as to belt out the lyrics from the musical. Most recently, Daniel was an avid supporter of his political views, frequently arguing passionately to support the causes he believed in.
A private viewing was held for family on Thursday, July 27, at the John H Shaw III Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
A date for a memorial service is yet to be scheduled.
