Dale W. Snook, 77, of Creek Road, Middleburg, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, March 13, 2018, at his home.
He was born Dec. 28, 1940, in Spring Township, Snyder County, a son of the late Jay L. and Hattie V. (Knepp) Snook. On Aug. 22, 1961, he married the former Bonnie Jean Predix who preceded him in death on Feb. 17, 2013.
Dale was a 1960 graduate of West Snyder High School.
He had been employed at Beavertown Weaving Mills for 37 years and later worked at Thor Industries, Middleburg. He had also worked in tree farming and for John and Albert Thomas on their farm.
Dale enjoyed hunting, gardening, and riding his motorcycle. He was a gifted mechanic and loved to tinker.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael E. and Samantha Snook of Lewistown, and Jay E. and Cindy Snook of Middleburg; one daughter, Michelle D. Keiser of Beaver Springs; five grandchildren, Shaine, Dale, and Joshua Snook, Heather Sprenkel, and Nathan Hicks; six stepgrandchildren, Megan Harpster, Dani Moist, Cody McKnight, Amanda, Heather, and Tyler Reichenbach; 11 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother, Dennis Snook of McClure; three sisters, Edna Baker of Beaver Springs, Myrtle Arnold of McClure, Arlene Bickel of Reedsville; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Orval, Aurie, and Otis Snook; and two sisters, Geraldine Brininger and Jean Boonie.
Friends and family will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg, followed by the funeral at 11 with Pastor Carvel K. May officiating.
Burial will be in the Beavertown God's Missionary Church Cemetery.
