Dale R. Hane, 89, of Sunbury, passed away and entered into eternal life on Oct. 5, 2017, at Geisinger Medical Center. He was surrounded by his loved ones when he met his Lord and Savior.
He was born Nov. 20, 1927, the son of the late Clarence and Kathryn (Hummel) Hane.
Dale graduated from Selinsgrove High School in 1946 and later took courses in carpentry and radio and television repair. He served with the Army in Okinawa as a signal corp operator. After his discharge he met and married the former Dolores "Dee" Yeager.
He was a dedicated employee of PPL for 36 years.
He was a faithful member of the Catawissa Avenue United Methodist Church and a faithful member of its choir. He also served on the administrative board, the board of trustees and the Pastor Parish Committee. His favorite hymn was "Victory in Jesus."
Dale's hobbies included amateur radio and model trains. He traveled abroad and enjoyed the culture and historic sites in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather and faithfully followed his daughters and their activities in the Shikellamy Marching Braves Band with their many band competitions and trips.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Kim Snyder and Pamela Hane, of Sunbury, and Erika Anderson and her husband, Mark, of Selinsgrove; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The funeral service is private.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Catawissa Ave. United Methodist Church, Sunbury.
