Clara Rebecca Wagner, 88, of Selinsgrove, died peacefully on Thursday, Aug 17, 2017, at the Geisinger Medical Center surrounded by family.
She was born Dec. 28, 1928, in Cressona, to Christian and Pearl (Fessler) Scheithauer. She grew up in Gordon, and graduated from Ashland High School. She married Robert Wagner in 1950 and moved to Selinsgrove shortly after.
Clara worked her entire career at the Selinsgrove Elementary School cafeteria. She was a very active member of Sharon Lutheran Church in Selinsgrove, Lafayette Chapter of the Eastern Star, PP&L Retirees Club and Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees.
She was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always had a smile and a positive attitude. She enjoyed playing bridge, cooking and music.
Clara is survived by one daughter, Ann, of Selinsgrove; one son, Richard (Alice) of Big Lake, Minn.; three granddaughters, Rebecca (Jim) Swanson, of Cashmere, Wash., Rachel (Spencer) Buchert, of Spokane, Wash., and Valerie Wagner, of Maple Grove, Minn.; three great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; a brother, Christian Scheithauer; and a granddaughter, Bobbi Ann Smith.
Family and friends may attend a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Sharon Lutheran Church, 120 S. Market St., Selinsgrove, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Robert P. Doll officiating.
Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Selinsgrove.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sharon Lutheran Church, 120 S. Market St., Selinsgrove.
Arrangements are by the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove.
