Clara M. Lowe, 90 of Duncannon, formerly of Pine Street, Liverpool, entered into rest on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at the Stonebridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Duncannon.
She was married to Chester Allen "Chet" Lowe, who preceded her on March 8, 2013. The couple were married for 61 years at the time of his passing.
Clara was born in Hunters Valley, Perry County on Oct. 2, 1927. She was the daughter of the late William Robert and Carrie Elizabeth (Bair) Stroup. Her parents named her after her two aunts, Clara Radel and Minerva Hunter, whose husbands at one time operated the Millersburg Ferry.
She was a 1946 graduate of Liverpool High School.
Clara was formerly employed at the Eileen Hope Dress Factory, Liverpool, and later in partnership, along with her husband Chester and son Bradley, acquired Jay's Restaurant in 1972. They later changed the name to Lowe's Restaurant.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Liverpool, and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 364, Liverpool.
Clara enjoyed baking.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bradley "Brad" and Leslie Lowe; a grandson Christopher Lowe and his wife Debra; and two great grandchildren, Breanne and Austin.
Clara was the last of her immediate family, she was preceded by five sisters, Hazel Clouser, Glodie Kell, H. Marie Delbaugh, Sylvia Knouse,and Carrie "Leona" Cook.
Friends and family are invited to the visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 606 N. Front Street, Liverpool, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m., with the Rev. David Sensenig officiating.
Burial will be in the Liverpool Union Cemetery.
