Chester's Story

Chester E. Renn Jr., 68, of Sunbury, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at his residence.
He was born March 12, 1949, in Shamokin, a son of Dolores (Landis) Renn, of Elysburg and the late Chester E. Renn Sr. On Sept. 13, 1969, he married the former Judith A. Ozlanski who survives.

Chester was a 1967 graduate of Mount Carmel High School and served in the Army Signal Corp in Vietnam.
He was employed by Acme Markets and had served on the Board of Supervisors in Rockefeller Township.
He was a member of St. Elias Reformed United Church of Christ in Lower Augusta Township.
Chester enjoyed hunting and coin collecting.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dale J. and Timena Renn, of Sunbury and Kirk A. and Lora Renn, of Selinsgrove; four grandsons, Brendan, Jaron, Adam and Grant; and one brother and sister-in-law, Wayne A. and Bonnie Renn, of Catawissa.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.

In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations to his church.

Arrangements are by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury.
