Chelsey N. Bohner, 32 of Susquehanna Trail, Northumberland, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018, at UPMC, Sunbury.
Our beautiful baby girl came into this world on March 15, 1986, in Lewisburg, to her father, Larry S. Bohner of Northumberland and mother and stepfather, Crystal A. (Savidge) and Brian J. Wolfe of Sunbury.
As a child Chelsey was full of life and was loved deeply. She could always be heard singing and laughing. Chelsey loved animals and wanted to save them all. Her favorite was Kero her Havanese dog. Chelsey and Kero were each others shadow. That little dog was always by her side. By age 14, she was already in her addiction. It was a constant battle to stay clean and sober. The God-given gift of her children was not enough to fight the demons. Getting clean and relapsing was a continuing struggle. Addiction is a dirty little secret. No one plans on becoming an addict or being an addict for that matter. Addiction does not discriminate and does not pick and choose young, old, rich or poor, all are its victims. Her last years, Chelsea found joy in decorating and crafting. Chelsea's greatest joy and love was from her children, her undying love she carried in her heart even during the worst of times. Her contagious smile and laugh will be forever in our memory. On Friday afternoon, we hope Chelsea found the peace that she looked for during so much of her life. So while we don't want anyone to miss the cautionary tale of addiction that she exemplified, we will gather to celebrate what was in her best times, the real Chelsey that many of us were privileged to know and so dearly loved. We're hoping to share Chelsey's story in the hope that lives may be saved and her death will not be in vain. If you are reading this and have addiction issues or know anyone that does, please share Chelsea story. Too many lives are lost through addiction.
In addition to her parents, Chelsey is survived by her children, one daughter, Camryn N. Bohner, and one son, Gage S. Ritter, both at home; their father, Shawn Ritter of Mifflinburg; one brother, Chad S. Bohner and companion, Ashlee White of Sunbury; one sister, Chastin N. Bohner of Northumberland; one niece, Londyn Layne Bohner; maternal grandmother, Sonja I. Savidge of Northumberland; her many aunts and uncles, John W. and Sharon Savidge of Northumberland, S. Michele and Edward J. Cope of Northumberland, Darlene and Jeff Long of Trevorton, Tom and Diane Bohner of Northumberland, David and Teresa Bohner of Trevorton, Sharon and Jim Mordan of Danville, Karen and Kenny Klingman of Sunbury, Deb Bohner of Sunbury, Ron Kratzer of Northumberland; and her many cousins.
She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Anna M. Boyer Duitch and her husband Kenneth P. Duitch and Russell E. Bohner; maternal grandfather, John W. Savidge; uncle, Ken Bohner; and aunt, Alice Kratzer.
