Charlotte E. Keister Charlotte E. Keister, 89, of Freeburg, entered into rest on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was the wife of the late Merle Charles Keister, who preceded her in death on June 21, 1987. Charlotte was born on Aug. 27, 1929, in Derry Township, Mifflin County, the daughter of the late John J. and Grace S. (Hoffman) Richard.

Charlotte was a 1947 graduate of Middleburg Joint High School.

She retired from the former Acme Food Market and Super Saver in Selingrove. Charlotte also was employed at Beavertown Knitting Mills and Time Market, Mount Pleasant Mills.

She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Freeburg and was a former member of the Freeburg Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

Charlotte enjoyed playing cards.

She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Daryl and Dianne Keister of Selinsgrove, Debra and Marlin Heintzelman of Middleburg, Gregory Keister of Freeburg, Doug and Jennifer Keister of Jupiter Fla., and Kelly and Lorraine Keister of Middleburg; a daughter-in-law, Carol Keister of Selinsgrove; 11 grandchildren, Stacey, Jeff, Tim, Julie, Chad, Pam, Lauren, Bryan, Jess, Josh, and Jenny; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margretta Spangler and Nellie Kuhn; a brother, George Richard, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Charlotte was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Keister; and two brothers, Glen Richard and Joseph Richard.

Friends and family are invited to the viewing on Thursday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills. Officiating will be Pastor Dan Hicks.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Freeburg.
