Carol's Story

Carol L. (Sillers) Richards, 86, of Douglassville, formerly of Jeffersonville, wife of William J. Richards, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017, at Seasons Hospice, surrounded by her loving husband and children.
She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Walter and Ruth (Myers) Sillers.

Carol was a retired registered nurse and stayed active as a hospital volunteer.
She was an active member at Jeffersonville Presbyterian Church in Norristown where she was in the bell choir, Ruth Circle, and was an assistant at vacation Bible school.
Carol was an accomplished violinist and a music lover. She was also very creative with handicraft doing quilting, crocheting and award winning cross-stitch. Carol loved flowers, baking, cooking, nature and animals. She enjoyed traveling in the United States and abroad, playing board and card games.

In addition to her husband of 63 years, she is survived by her children, Pam J. Bowman, wife of Gary, William J. Richards Jr., husband of Dolores, Michael P. Richards, husband of Alice, and Kathleen A. Richards, wife of Mike Romanosky; five grandchildren, William Bowman, husband of Kira, Keith Bowman, husband of Jennifer, Amanda Richards, William Richards III, and Madon Romanosky; and five great- grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Jeffersonville Presbyterian Church, 1921 W. Main St., Norristown, followed by the funeral at 11.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol's memory may be made to the church at the above address.
