Carol L. Hoffman

September 10, 1949 - November 25, 2017

Carol L. (Force) Hoffman, 68, of Culp Road, Sunbury, joined her husband in Heaven on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at her home.
She was born Sept. 10, 1949, in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Edward "Red" and Catherine Mae (Bieber) Force. On Nov. 8, 1969, she married George R. Hoffman who preceded her in death Nov. 16, 2017.

Carol was a 1967 graduate of Shikellamy High School.
She was a very active member of Grace Lutheran Church, Northumberland, serving as a Sunday school teacher as well as janitor of the church.
Carol was dedicated to maintaining her home and caring for her family and neighbors. Church and her family were the most important things in her life. She was a member of the PTA when her children were in school and along with her husband, was very active in Little League baseball, especially filling the role of score keeper. Carol greatly enjoyed maintaining her flower gardens and helping family members when needed.

She is survived by, three sons and one daughter-in-law, Edward A. and Gina C. Hoffman, of Juliet, Ill., Richard L. Hoffman and fiancé Mary C. Brittain, of Mount Pleasant Mills, and Kenneth A. Hoffman, of Sunbury; one granddaughter, Geri; two stepgranddaughters, Mahala and Reili; three sisters, Diane Force, of Northumberland, Gail Carper, of Riverside, and Elizabeth "Lib" Ripple, of Sunbury; nieces and nephews, Erin, Tom, Melissa, Katie, Randy, John, Mike, Jeff, Mark, Greg, Eric, Joe and Sue.
Carol was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Rick Carper; and nephew, Carl Snyder.

Friends and family may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland, followed by the funeral at 7, with the Rev. Steven Middernacht officiating.
