Carla D. Davis, 63, of Milton, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at the Geisinger Columbia Montour Hospice at Maria Hall, Danville.
She was born Feb. 15, 1953, in Danville, a daughter of the late William and Betty (Dugan) Kurtz. She was married to Harry S. Davis for 42½ years and will be missed as his life companion and best friend.
Carla was a 1971 graduate of Milton High School and a 1975 graduate of Millersville State College. She graduated with double major in elementary education and special education.
She spent the majority of her career working with the CSIU in Montandon where she retired as Disabilities Coordinator for Northumberland County Head Start. She touched thousands of children and families in her community. Her heart was always looking to serve the broken and disadvantaged.
She was a member of Christ Wesleyan Church, Milton.
Carla enjoyed camping, kayaking, hiking, knitting, astronomy and Bible study.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin and Anne Marie Davis, of Buffalo, N.Y.; one daughter and son-in-law, Bethany and Zach Garretson, of Harrisburg; and two grandchildren, Joy Davis and Samuel Garretson. Her family was at the heart of all she did and gave her much delight in her lifetime.
Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Christ Wesleyan Church, 363 Stamm Road, Milton, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Arlie Davis officiating.
Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery.
