Carl R. Erb, 88, of Pine Street, Milton, passed away on Feb. 17, 2018, at the Milton Nursing and Rehab Center.
He was born Jan. 20, 1930, in Forrest Hill, a son of the late Stern Isaac and Roxie (Wirth) Erb. He was married in 1966 to the former Evelyn Pfleegor who survives.
Carl served in the Navy and the Army during the Korean War.
He was employed by American Home Foods for 27 years, retiring in 1995.
Carl enjoyed bowling and woodworking.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Thompson of Linden, Joylene Braim and husband Marty of Montgomery, and Roberta Starks of Milton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Marie Linn of Milton, and Thomas and Michelle Erb of Milton; one sister, Betty Marks of West Milton; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Carl was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jennifer Hamm; one grandson, Michael Linn; and 15 brothers and sisters.
Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, followed by the funeral at 11, with Pastor Butch Woolsey officiating.
Burial will be in Forrest Hill Cemetery.
