Brenda L. Stephens, 68, of Harrisburg, passed away on Monday morning, July 9, 2018, at the Garden's at West Shore, Camp Hill.
She was born May 17, 1950, in Lewistown, a daughter of Minerva J. (Yerger) Mitchell of Selinsgrove, and the late Edgar A. Mitchell.
Brenda was a 1968 graduate of Middleburg High School.
She had been employed for many years at the Selinsgrove Center, and retired in 2012 from the Department of Public Welfare, Harrisburg.
Brenda enjoyed bingo, reading, especially riding motorcycle.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Becky S. and Rodney Swartz of Middleburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian E. and Heather DeLong of Leck Kill and Jake B. and Deb Spotts of Knoxville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her long time companion, Nathan Farnum; one sister, Carolyn Murphy of Mifflin; and her dog, Diamond.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale L. Spotts and one great-grandchild.
A viewing will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg, followed by the funeral at 3, with the Rev. Thomas Adams Jr. officiating.
A private burial will be in the Mazeppa Union Cemetery.
