Betty J. Swineford, 87, formerly of New Berlin Highway, Winfield, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at Elmcroft, Lewisburg.
She was born Feb. 4, 1931, in Jackson Township, Snyder County, a daughter of the late Henry and Emily (Seebold) Beaver. On April 15, 1950, she married George W. Swineford who preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 2010.
Betty had been employed at area garment factories and retired in 1982 from Tara Lee, New Berlin.
She was a member of the Port Ann Wesleyan Church where she sang in the choir.
Betty enjoyed doing crafts, knitting, crocheting, and quilting. She took pleasure in caring for her garden and lawn and will be remembered as being a great cook.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sandy L. and Dean Mowery of Middleburg; one son and daughter-in-law, Randal G. and Delight Swineford of Winfield; two grandchildren, Cory Swineford and wife Bridget, and Nikole Delosier and fiance, Michael Nichols; two great-grandchildren, Brittany and Jacob Swineford; one brother and sister-in-law, Clair and Bonnie Beaver of Winfield.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Port Ann Wesleyan Church, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Paul K. Sheets officiating.
Burial will be in the New Berlin Cemetery.
