Betty Lou Ruch

December 01, 1927 - October 04, 2018

Betty Lou Ruch Betty Lou (Harp) Ruch, 90, of Milton, formerly of Sunbury, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018.
She was born Dec. 1, 1927, a daughter of the late Charles "Ed" and Roxanne Harp of Sunbury. What a glorious day! Betty was the eldest to two siblings who survive. Shirley Beachel of Sunbury and Charles "Sonny" Harp of Lewisburg. On July 21, 1946, Betty married the love of her life and an amazing man, the Rev. Raymond C. Ruch Sr. who preceded her in death. They were married for 69 years.

Betty and Raymond were the parents of six children, two daughters and four sons, all of which survive. Raymond Charles Ruch Jr. and Brenda Ruch of Sunbury; Ruth and Dale Tubbs of New Hampshire; Mary and William Rieder of Florida; John and Diane Ruch of Tennessee; Joel and Glenda Ruch of Milton; and lastly, Paul and Julie Ruch of Turbotville.

Amongst being a wife and mother, Betty was a nurse at Sunbury Community Hospital for many years and loved it.
Betty enjoyed keeping busy around the house, knitting or crocheting, baking, canning, and spending time with her dachshunds. Betty was the designated baker in the family. So having a house full of family and friends to entertain around the holidays was something Betty did with grace.

Betty was a woman of faith which was demonstrated by her commitment and devotion to the church and her Lord and Savior. She took pride in her children, her 19 grandchildren, her many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Betty was loved and will be missed by family and friends.

A public viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at First Regular Baptist Church, Northumberland where Betty and Raymond spent many years of their lives, followed by the funeral at 2.
Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Betty to the First Regular Baptist Church, Northumberland.

Arrangements are by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 309 Water St., Northumberland.
