Benjamin W. Witmer, 80, of Sunbury, and formerly of Dalmatia, passed away at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at Manor Care, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimers.
He was born Dec. 27, 1936, in Berwick, a son of Benjamin W. Sr. and Mary Ann (Vandermark) Witmer. On March 17, 1962, he married Sharon "Cookie" Moyer.
Benjamin served in the Navy.
He was a truck driver. His hobbies included drawing, shopping, eating out, spending time with his family and his best friend Yoder. He was a member of the Teamsters.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Benjamin Witmer, Kristi Witmer, and Elizabeth Deitrich and husband Dennis; two sisters, Catherine Lebo and husband Roger and Carolyn Rebuck; and seven grandchildren, Tnaya, Levi and Brianne Witmer, Sydney Drum, and Mason, Brooke and Kelsey Deitrich.
He was preceded in death by his mother and sister, Margaret Jobes.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by the Olley-Gotlob Funeral Home, 539 Race St., Sunbury.
