Benjamin W. Kelley Sr., 72, of Duke Street, Northumberland, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at his home.
He was born Oct. 18, 1944, in Sunbury, a son of the late Arthur B. and Dorothy C. (Dando) Kelley. He was married to the former Susan A. Reichner who preceded him in death on July 11, 2015.
Ben attended Northumberland High School.
He was employed as a mechanic all of his life retiring from BZ Motors, Lewisburg. Ben was a very hard worker, spending hours in his garage at home after a long day at work.
Ben was an avid NASCAR fan following Dale Earnhardt and later Dale Earnhardt Jr., and was a collector of their memorabilia.
He is survived by one son, Benjamin W. Kelley Jr., of Northumberland; one daughter, Chris Bingaman, of Sunbury; three grandchildren, Samantha M. Kelley, Dakota N. Lewis, and Amanda M. Carl; and three great-grandchildren, Sydney, Camdyn and Kiara,
He was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Stacey Lewis.
Friends and family may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland, followed by the funeral at 10, with the Rev. Patricia Pittsnogle officiating.
Burial will follow in Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Sunbury.
