Barbara Pratini Spaid, 83, of Smithsburg, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 at her home, while surrounded by her loving family.
Born Feb. 2, 1935, in San Jose, Calif., the only child of the late Constantine and Rose (Tedesco) Pratini. She soon found herself moving across the country to a small rural town in Pennsylvania, where the rest was history.
Barb worked as a teacher, and held various paralegal and administrative positions.
Barb enjoyed spending time at their family condo in Ocean City, Maryland, but most importantly spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was very loved and will be missed by her family and friends. She is survived her loving husband of 54 years, James Daniel "Dan" Spaid; three children, Warren Spaid of Smithsburg, Christopher Spaid and wife Dawn of Hagerstown, Michelle Mong and husband Joseph of Smithsburg; four grandchildren, Erika Mong, Aaron Mong, Ally Spaid, Gabriella Spaid; two step grandchildren, Christiana Smith and Alexandra Smith; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Kennedy Smith and Piper Cozzi.
