Barbara M. (Fuhrer) Lupold, 74, formerly of Dornsife, died peacefully Sunday afternoon, Aug. 20, 2017, surrounded by loved ones.
She was lucky enough to have lived various places across the state including Dalmatia, Latrobe, Wallingford, State College, Dornsife and Coatesville, where she accumulated friends all along the way. She held a vast array of jobs throughout her lifetime and worked until the age of 70. She was a voracious reader and especially enjoyed mystery novels. Barb was also an avid collector of knick-knacks. Anyone that ever visited her home can attest to the multitude of Sheila Houses, Pepsi memorabilia and Santa Claus statues. She was also a dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers fan and never wasted a chance to watch the Black and Gold. Finally, she was a devout Christian and it was this faith in religion that made her love all people and led to her affinity towards animals.
Barbara was preceded in death by both her parents Stanley and Anna Fuhrer, and a sister, Arlene.
She is survived by two brothers, Robert (Doris) and William (Wanda) Fuhrer; one sister, Audrey (James) Brosius; her children, Tonya, Kenneth (Alicia), and Jonathan (Tyeshia); and 10 loving grandchildren, Nick, Olivia, Gabriella, Greyson, Anthony, Jayden, Elijah, Jocelyn, Carolina and Kendall.
Friends and family are invited to her memorial service from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at the Trinity UCC Church of Dalmatia, Route 147, Dalmatia.
Interment will follow the services and a luncheon in the church hall will follow that.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Barbara"s memory to the charity Forgotten Cats Inc., Greenville, DE, 19807.
