Audrey May Hibbs, 71, of 612 Logan Ave., Lewisburg, went to be with her Lord on Saturday morning, July 29, 2017, at the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
A native of Muncy, she was born March 31, 1946, a daughter of the late Willard R. and Arla (Herman) Smith. She was married to Ralph Hibbs and her death breaks a marital union of 49 years.
Audrey was a graduate of Selinsgrove High School, Messiah College, and Bloomsburg University.
She retired as a teacher at the Riverside Elementary School, Danville and prior to that had been a member of the office staff at Selinsgrove High School, Laurelton State Center, PA Bureau of Rehabilitation, and Messiah College.
She was a member of Beaver Memorial United Methodist Church, Lewisburg, was active in Kairos Prison Ministries, and the Keystone Walk To Emmaus. Audrey loved to bake.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Antonia and Reid Ponx; one granddaughter, Alexis Ponx; one grandson, Zachariah Ponx; one stepgranddaughter, Anna Ponx; and two brothers, Elwood Smith and Tim Smith.
Friends and relatives will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Market and Eighth streets, Lewisburg, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Hummels United Methodist Church, Middleburg, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Mark F. Reisinger officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
