Arnold L. Kohl, 80, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, in the Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle.
He was born on Oct. 18, 1937, in Freeport, Ill., and was a son of the late Arnold Oscar Kohl and Carrie (Plasch) Kohl.
He graduated in 1955 from Freeport High School and served in the US Navy as an Interior Communications Electrician-Petty Officer Second Class and was honorably discharge in 1958 and transferred to Reserve duty.
Arnold retired from Carlisle Syntec where he worked as an Industrial Electrician in the Electrical Division, and was formerly employed with Baldwin Piano & Organs in Cincinnati for over 15 years. Arnold was a member of the Big Spring Fish & Game Assoc., AMVETS 274 and the Carlisle Eagles.
He is survived by his wife, Earlene (Van Scyoc) Heckendorn, of Carlisle; three daughters, Debbie Kohl and Michelle Kohl, both of Ashboro, N.C., and Denise Alexander, of Hewitt, N.J.; stepchildren, Lance Moore, Hollywood, Fla., J. Moore of Millidgeville, Ga., Denise Ginter, of Newburg, Ed Shoap of Newville, Karin Gaugler, of Bannerville, Ill., and Dean Gaugler, of Fairfield, Conn.; his dog, Pierre; six grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Kurtz; and his previous wife, Kathryn Jane (Lindsay) Kohl who passed away in 1999.
A viewing will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle, with the Rev. William Beck officiating.
