She was born Dec. 25, 1928 in McClure, a daughter of Orville and Erma (Long) Smith.
On May 7, 1950, she married Gerald E. Knepp Sr., who preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 2016.
Arlene was a 1946 graduate of McClure High School. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Middleburg. Arlene enjoyed camping, and along with her husband, traveled over much of the United States.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori S. and Donald Hummel, and Linda K. "Lyn" and Robert Whitenight, all of Middleburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald E. "Gerry" and Roxanne Knepp Jr. of Slidell, La., and Randy A. and Katy Knepp of Martinsburg; seven grandchildren, Cathy Spencer, Kirsten Knepp, Kitzy Winn, Brook Hummel, Danielle Elliott, Tad Whitenight, and Adam Shriver; four great-grandchildren, Keegan, Shane, Dylan, and Drake; and one great-great-granddaughter, Aniyah.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, Dec. 27 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the First United Church of Christ, Route 522 Middleburg, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Alice Rauch officiating.
Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, Middleburg.
