Ardath C. Dieck, 88, of Sunbury, passed away at the Lancaster Mennonite Home on Dec. 30, 2017. She was born Oct. 4, 1929, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Charles and Emma (Conrad) Hassinger. On Nov. 23, 1950, she married Charles L. Dieck Jr. who passed away on Jan. 27, 2006.
Ardath was a 1947 graduate of Sunbury High School.
Ardath was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and kept an immaculate home.
She is survived by her son, Michael C. Dieck and his wife Deborah, of Danville; daughter, Cheryl D. Hoffman and her husband Michael, of Lancaster; six grandchildren and their spouses, Aaron and Beth Hoffman, Brian and Kelly Hoffman, Jenna and Matthew Moyer, Ryan and Mandie Dieck, Eric and Jennifer Dieck, and Geoffrey Dieck and Jessica; 12 great-grandchildren, Owen, Brycen, Lillia, Caden, Cylus, Luke, Landen, Gracie, Jameson, Chase, Camden, and Carter; sister, Edith Marshall, of Sunbury; brother, Richard Hassinger, of Camp Hill; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 11 siblings.
Friends and family may visit from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at the David T. Zweier Funeral Home Inc., 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury, followed by the funeral at noon, with the Rev. Timothy Moore officiating.
Interment will be in Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Sunbury.
