April spent her childhood years in Northumberland and graduated from Shikellamy High School in 1972. She went to work in the Geisinger Radiology Department before moving on to work for Abigail's Attic. April retired in October 2016 from Abigail's Attic, after 25 years of service.

April remained a resident in Danville until November 2016 when she relocated and resided with her brother and family in Hummelstown.
April was a lovely and gracious lady who had many friends including the ladies of Abigail's Attic. She always had a kind and encouraging word for others. Gross and husband Braden, all of New Kingston; one great-nephew, Gannon Rogers; aunt, Patsy Bendle and husband Larry, of San Antonio, Texas; uncle, Paul Leese and wife Donna, of Northumberland; lifelong friend, Tom Skotedis; and numerous cousins and many dear friends.
