Anthony L. "Tony" Romano, 69, of Lewisburg, passed away Tuesday morning, July 9, 2019, at the Geisiger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born March 2, 1950, in Altoona, a son of the late Anthony L. and Caroline (Stack) Romano. He was married to the former Cecilia Maisano and his death breaks a marital union of 48 years.

Tony received an associate degree in tool making technology from Penn Tech. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
He was a consultant in the Health and Safety Management system working on safety solutions and training of OSHA at various companies. He worked at Susquehanna Fire Equipment Company.
A member of the Sacred Heart Church, he was an Eucharistic Minister taking communion to Catholics at various nursing homes, and a Saturday morning men's group.
Tony enjoyed hunting, camping, sports, spending time with his grandchildren, and gardening. He was a supporter of the local food bank, and helped with Dinner By The River on Thursdays. He had an extraordinary ability to get the most out of coupons which he used to help the food bank

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Danielle Minor and her partner Eric Thorek of Philadelphia; one son, Steven Romano and his wife Kasi of Lewisburg; five grandchildren, Isabel Minor, William Minor, Samantha Thorek, Heath Romano and Ryan Romano; one sister, Carolyn (Martin) Slifko of Houtzdale; and a nephew, Marty.

Friends and relatives will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Fridday, July 12, at the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Market and Eighth streets, Lewisburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at Sacred Heart Church, 814 St Louis St., Lewisburg, with the Rev. Mark Wilke as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Lewisburg Cemetery. Military services accorded by Lewisburg area veterans.

I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of another ( Northwood ) childhood friend, I remember him so well, a very nice young man, To his sister, I would have liked to be there with all of you, but I’m at another funeral today for another one from Northwood, Tim Friday. It’s a very sad day Love to all,

Heartfelt prayers for Tony's wife and family. I didn't know Tony very well, however, I saw him at our safety days. He always had a smile and seemed very kind. Tony will be missed.
