Anthony's Story

Anthony Mazurkevich, 78, of 6 Ivy Lane, Danville, formerly of Montoursville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Dec. 7, 1937, in Mount Carmel, a son of the late Anthony and Martha (Ositko) Mazurkevich. Anthony is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Donna Brazinski Skelding Mazurkevich whom he married July 25, 1987.

Anthony graduated from Mount Carmel High School in 1955. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1955-1959.

He was employed for 30 years as a store manager at PP&L, from where he retired.

Anthony was a member of the Knights of Columbus in the Third and Fourth degree and was a lifetime member of the American Hose Fire Company.

He loved to travel, go to dinner with friends and his greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Anthony F. Mazurkevich and wife, Angie, of Mount Carmel; two daughters, Melissa Stabinski and husband, Lance, of Marian Heights, and Dr. Kimberly Skelding and husband, Kollin Harman, of Danville; six grandchildren, Marissa, Kristina, Christopher, Eric, Blake and Lexi; and two brothers, John Mazurkevich, of Lancaster, and Paul Mazurkevich, of Kulpmont.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 18 E. Center St., Danville, with Rev. James E. Lease as celebrant.

Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg, with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 40 Honor Guard.

The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions in Anthony's memory may be made to the Mount Carmel Public Library, 30 S. Oak St., Mount Carmel, PA 17851.
