Angelo Michael Palermo, of West Pittston, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018.
He was born in Pittston, a son of the late Archangelo and Grace Maria Palermo.
Angelo attended West Pittston High School and worked in the garment industry. He retired from Leslie Fay around 1990.
He was a wonderful man who truly loved and is loved by his entire family and friends. A master story teller, Angelo had a life-long appreciation of nature and his fellow man. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Angelo was a member of the First United Methodist Church, West Pittston.
He is survived by his children, Lynne Filipini (Armand), of Duryea, Michael Palermo (Mary), of New Berlin, and Laura Topolosky, of Kingston; grandchildren, Mark Filipini, of Seattle, Wash., Amy Noelle Geiger, of West Pittston, Ryan, Evan, and Angela Palermo, of New Berlin, and Michael Topolosky, of Avoca; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Orlando Palermo; brothers, Anthony, Samuel and Louis; sisters, Mary Russo, Josephine Mantione, Susan Shannon, Angeline Shean, Grace LaCava and Rose DiTullo.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Howell-Lussi Funeral Home, 509 Wyoming Ave., West Pittston. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, West Pittston, with Pastor David Walker officiating. Everyone is asked to go directly to Church on Saturday morning.
Internment will be in Dennison Cemetery, Swoyersville.
