Alice Irene Miller, 82, and Ronald Lee "Ronnie" Miller Sr., 84, of Liverpool, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at their home. The couple were married for 62 years.
Alice was born Oct. 17, 1935, in Loganton, a daughter of the late Wilbur and Armina (Stamm) Matter.
She was a graduate of Duncannon High School.
Alice was formerly employed at the Eileen Hope Dress Factory, Liverpool and Homemakers. She retired from the Selinsgrove Center. After retiring she then worked at the Nipple Convalescent Home.
She was a member of the Liverpool United Methodist Church and attended the Christian Union Church, Mount Pleasant Mills. Alice was past president of the Liverpool American Legion Post No. 364 Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the Home Association at the Legion. She was also a member of the Hunters Valley Sportsmen's Association.
Alice loved her family. She enjoyed reading, playing shuffle board, flower gardening, taking trips to the beach and going to yard sales.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Lee Miller Jr. and his partner Randy Flick, of Ickesburg; two daughters and one son-in-law, LuAnn M. Spade, of Liverpool and Carolyn I. and Jacob E. Sheaffer, of Liverpool; five grandchildren, Christine Magaro, Brooke Reichenbach and her husband Brent and their five children, Nicholas Spade and his wife Meggan and their three children, Logan Sheaffer, and Jacob Sheaffer; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Matter, Donna Matter, and Shelia Matter; and many nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Randy Spade; and four brothers and one sister-in-law, Warren and Mick Matter, Boyd Matter, Robert Matter, and Kenneth Matter.
A combined memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, at the Christian Union Church, 5230 Route 104, Mount Pleasant Mills. Food and fellowship will follow the service in the Christian Life Center of the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in loving memory of Alice to the Liverpool Fire Company, 309 N. Market St., Liverpool, PA 17045.
The George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 606 N. Front St., Liverpool, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
