Aberdeen's Story

Aberdeen G. Lepley, 92, of Shamokin Dam, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, June 26, 2017, at the Sunbury Community Health and Rehabilitation Center where she had resided since Feb. 14, 2014.
She was born July 2, 1924, in Sunbury, one of six children of the late Albert and Florence (Kreider) George.

Aberdeen was a 1942 graduate of Sunbury High School. Following high school graduation, she married the late Roy Ardell Drumm. On Dec. 29, 1979, she married J. Richard Lepley who preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 2009.
She was employed by Nite-Kraft and A.M.P. She later became a homemaker.
She was member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Northumberland.
Aberdeen enjoyed going on bus trips and playing bingo with her friends from the Selinsgrove Senior Action Center, where she was an active member. She was an avid gardener who also loved cooking, travel, and was always on the look out for a good bargain. Her generosity, love, and support for her family will never be forgotten.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Becky Jo Enders, of Sunbury, Peggy and Robert Marr, of Lexington, Ky., and Mary and Martin Doto, of Manlius, N.Y.; three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Bonnie Lepley, of Lewisburg, John and Diane Lepley, of Mount Carmel, and David and Irene Lepley, of Carlisle; 18 grandchildren, David and Rhiannon Newberry, Pamela Olds, Bryan Marr, Kimberly Doto, Kristen Doto, Andrea Doto, Amy and Nathan Rossman, Megan and Jeremy Campbell, Jessica and B.J. Kaledas, Chris Lepley, John and Renee Lepley, Dyan and Brian Leslie, Brandon Lepley, Shaine Lepley, Malinda and Michael DelPriore, Aaron and Elizabeth Lepley, Adam and Bethany Lepley, and Jacob Lepley; 22 great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Maurice Herman, of Lewisburg; and sister-in-law, Ruth Peters, of Mifflinburg.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Jay, and Walter George; one sister, Louise Schreffler; and one grandson, Jason Marr.

Friends will be received from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Sixth and King streets, Northumberland, followed by the funeral at 1, with the Rev. Darrin Hunt officiating.
Burial will be in Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Sunbury.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Aberdeen's memory may be made to the Sunbury Community Health and Rehabilitation Activities Department (Sunbury Community Hospital), Selinsgrove Senior Action Center, or Trinity United Methodist Church, Northumberland.
